The health benefits of virgin olive oil

AOC (Appellation of Controlled Origin) is an official quality accreditation reserved for products specific to a region which lends them a unique character and inimitable taste.
    How to read a label
This accreditation guarantees the authenticity of a product created using traditional methods.

Consumers who are ever more discerning and pay more attention to what they are buying are reassured by the AOC accreditation. By certifying the origin of a product and its method of production, the AOC accreditation gives valuable guarantees to consumers who turn away from products of unknown origin made using uncertain methods.
Consumers who are no longer content with standardised products devoid of identity and taste, when choosing products bearing the AOC mark are choosing products which are also typical of an area and of a tradition. AOC accreditations meet the requirements of demanding customers who seek local produce with more taste and more guarantees.
AOC accreditations also meet the ecological concerns of consumers who favour locally produced goods which have not been transported over hundred of kilometers.

Depuis le 17 mars 2007, une nouvelle AOC est née : l' AOC PROVENCE
Today Provence is the first olive oil producing region of France and accounts for half the national production, namely 2100 tonnes per annum. 464 Communes are situated in this new AOC area, as well as 80 olive oil mills (privately owned or cooperatives) added to the thirty or so independent producers who sell their olive oil directly.
